How to join

Joining the Environment Exchange is simple!

You can join t2e by following these 6 simple steps: 

STEP 1

Download and complete the following documents:  

  • Market Participation Agreement for PRN and/or WEN Market
  • Application to become a participant of t2e  

STEP 2

To comply with the requirements of the money laundering regulations your application needs to be accompanied by a copy of your company accounts. If you wish to trade on forward markets and/or earn a 50% discount on the annual participation fee you should complete the Direct Debit mandate. For the same 50% discount, reprocessors and exporters should complete our survey.

STEP 3

Send the Application form and two originals of the Market Participation Agreement to t2e at the return address shown on the application form. For security reasons we ask for your trader's mother's maiden name and your date of birth.

STEP 4

You will be registered as a Participant of the relevant market and be eligible to trade as soon as your original forms are received and processed.

STEP 5

If you wish to trade on behalf of an obligated company or compliance scheme, you will need to complete two originals of one of the following two Representative Agreements before you are permitted to trade:

  • The Representative Agreement. This is a three-way agreement between the representative, t2e and the obligated party being represented. In this agreement the representative shares responsibility with the obligated party for the performance of all contracts traded through t2e and the Representative has exclusive rights of presentation of the obligated party on t2e.

 or

  • The Additional Agreement to the Participation Agreement. This is a two-way agreement between the representative and t2e. In this agreement the representative is solely responsible for the performance of all contracts traded through t2e and the representative does not have exclusive rights of representation of the obligated party on t2e.

Under all circumstances, a representative will have to state whom they are representing before the contract can be completed, normally at the moment of placing an order to buy.

STEP 6

A completed original of the Participation Agreement (or a copy if you have only sent one) and individually sealed passcodes for each of your traders will be posted out to you. If appropriate, your Representative Agreement will be sent to you shortly afterwards.
