LONDON (ICIS)–The UK Environment Agency (EA) will not normally take enforcement action against producers in England that meet at least 83% of their plastics recycling obligations in 2026, following a period of high Packaging Recovery Note (PRN) values driven by data showing the UK is significantly behind its annual plastic recycling targets.

PRNs/PERNs can be sold on the secondary marketplace The Environment Exchange (t2e), ending up ultimately with the large packaging producers that are obliged to buy them. Read more.
